Jews don't consider to have any kinship with European Westerners or shared "heritage" and for them they are just another type of non-Jews, like the Chinese or the Australian Aborigines. Jews have and always maintained a very distinct identity.

Also for many centuries the Ashkenazi were a minority among world Jewry. It was the modernization of agriculture Industrial revolution that caused the Ashkenazi population to increase, along with the European population general.

Not really. Most european jews lived in insular communities and were never that numerous in most areas. Ashkenazis are levantines with considerable south and eastern european admixture.

Germany has rich Ashkenazi Jew heritage. From the time of the Holy Roman Empire, many of the families of nobility were Jewish.

Also, might I add that 3,300,000 Ashkenazis lived in pre war Germany. My educated estimate from hours of mathematical equations based upon genealogy is that 72% of modern Germans have Ashkenazi blood to some extent.
