What went wrong?
>>1851112
there whole thing was a crazy idea.
marx should be viewed as a doctor too smart for his time. he could see what was wrong with capitalism but not "cure" it. hell, we're still looking for a cure.
Statism
It was supposed to be by the workers, for the workers. But it ended up being by the government, for the workers.
Ironically, unions were actually free-er in America than in the Soviet Union.
>>1851118
Robocommunism is probably the future
>>1851112
when Engels convinced his dad to give some of his money to his retarded friend so he could write his sonichu fan fiction
>>1851112
Collectivism is a bad idea?
>>1851127
I think Stirner just shouldn't have trolled Karl that hard.
Turns out that people aren't too smart to build the completely fair societal system from scratch. It is a good historical lesson for everyone.
>>1851112
Softies and Brezhnev not sticking around long enough.
>>1851126
Robogommies would enable a lot of weirdass hermetically closed societies.
>>1851141
> Brezhnev
> not sticking around long enough
What? Brezhnev is synonymous of stagnation, if anything he should been step away earlies when actually competent comrade could rule after him, instead of dying in like 100 days.

>see this gif
>"wtf was he in a fucking pizza hut commercial?"
>go to youtube
>type in "Gorb-" and it automatically fills out to "Gorbachev pizza hut commercial"
dedicating the entirety of your industrial might behind building tanks when you already had nukes and a conventional invasion of NATO would have been a waste of time.
imagine how much different things would have been if car ownership levels and consumer goods were on par with the USA.

I wonder if people in russia were pissed off when they saw that ad?, i mean the guy was never exactly popular but that makes him seem like a complete sell out.
>>1851195
thats what the ad is about. And old russian and a young russian are arguing about him. The old man bitching because he sold out the communist cause and caused chaos, and the young one saying hes good because he gave them a chance at a better future and freedom.
then some old babushka says "well, at least he gave us pizza hut!" and the old man who hates him is like "yeah, that is a good point!" and then everyone starts saying "Hail Gorbachev!"
>you will never brutally murder Stalin in 1924, take control of the Soviet Union and make it the worker's paradise it SHOULD have been
Is there a worse feel lads
>>1851205
yeah but i don't think your average early 90s russian is gonna let it slide because "PIZZA XD"
>>1851335
The ones who actually got the pizza in 90s would.
>>1851267
Meet me in Coyoacán in 15 minutes and ill cave your head in.
>>1851112
Advocating for violent state overthrow is a good way to marginalize your movement so that only violent egomaniacs are able to hold power.
>>1851125
>unions were actually free-er in America than in the Soviet Union
After what, 30 years of protests?
>>1851195
It was actually an AMERICAN ad, which makes it even worse
>>1851367
How else could the workers take power?
>>1851112
Local man ruined everything. Literally came to power using a loophole in a new set of laws.
>>1851383
Democratically

I now demand statistics on pizza consumption of the Russian population during the 89-90 period-
>>1851415
Russia was pretty damn communist before Stalin came to power. All these electrification and literacy programs was making it even more progressive than US.
>>1851267
>>1851390
>That's what Trots actually belive
Ayy lmao, american liberals are a joke.
>>1851112
Not much. We just need to re-boot it again and get back to shooting nationalists, religious zealots, laissez-faire fanatics and all the other weenies dragging mankind down. Simply debating those groups and their cringe-inducing moralism is fruitless.
Constrained vs unconstrained vision
That's all this bullshit comes down to. Arrogance about human nature. And it keeps happening.
>if we abolish a mode of production that has existed only for the last 200 years and has brought untold prosperity, we will achieve even greater prosperity
It was always a stupid idea to begin with.
>>1852323
>da free market will lead to global prosperity and every body will be rich now that communism failed
it isn't 1991 faggot. there's already a backlash to capitalism in the United fucking States, except morons call it globalism
>>1851112
Nothing
They modernised a medieval tier illiterate peasant state
Everything
>>1851112
Hrushev brought corn to USSR, start destalinization, rebilitate some repressed nation, create Kabardino-Balkar, Kalmyk and Chechen-Ingush autonomic soviet republics, create principle "irremoveability of personal", and its only few mistakes of one man.
I think that if Stalin live few years more, all can be better.
>>1851452
Lol, industrialization dont make USSR progressive?
>>1851112

>never mind that it was rapidly industrialising anyway (with french help) to the point where the germans were predicting that they would be unable to beat russia in a war by 1917

America sure was a failure
>>1852706

>>1853677
>this is what tankies actually believe
>don't know other Soviet leaders could have done the same without the country being under the thrall of a murderous cunt
Hitlerland would collapsed under its own weight and corruption fairly soon even if they somehow won, anyway.
This was addressed in a college business class I took...
In sum, the Soviet Union collapsed because there was no incentive to continuously improve and innovate, unlike in capitalist countries, where competition exists between several different private enterprises. The lack of innovation in non-military areas made it fall way behind its Western opponents, which set the stage for its collapse.
The main strength capitalism has over communism is that communism is thwarted by human nature while capitalism thrives on it. The drive to make more money, by continuously making your product, service, or process better than your competitor's product, is one of the big reasons why capitalism reign supreme and communism does not.
>>1853729
No it collapsed because of oil
>>1853677
>implying we could have won WWII without American Lend-Lease equipment
fixed
besides, Japan did the whole "rapid industrialization" thing better
the Duma under the Tsar wanted to follow their model, but the reds made it impossible
if it weren't for the commies, Russia might be a first-world country by now
>>1853737
>but the reds made it impossible
Dumbass Russians made it impossible. Not only you have the reds but also
>The Liberals
>The moderate socialists
>The nationalists hell-bent on Russification of minorities.
Late Imperial Russia was a mess. And then a fucking war happened.
All Utopianism is impossible and only approached across a sea of blood. This is especially true for Communism (although also applies to other Utopian ideas such as Anarcho-Capitalism).
