Wrong. The Franks were heavily assimilated into Romanized-Gaulic/Romano-Gaulic populations. Their name of their nation might be derived from the Franks but their cultural identity, language, and ethnicity comes from the Celtic Gauls.

The local leadership in those places changed, the people remained the same. They weren't all slaughtered and replaced by millions of germanic immigrants, you know?

Latins wouldn't be that much different from other Italic tribes, and since Italic tribes invaded and assimilated into much of the peninsula since before Rome even existed, and since there is no reason to assume any significant population shift happened in mainland Italy post WRE fall, yes.

the Franks gave their culture to the Franconian folk, which namely leaves the Dutch (who were the Salian Franks who stayed in the Frankish homeland rather than migrate into Gaul), but also has the French Flemish and Rhine Franconian-speaking folks.

So by that metric some Frenchman are Frankish, but not your average Parisian for example.

the Gothic folks that established themselves as the ruling class through the Early Middle Ages were usually just that, and didn't have much to bear towards the commoners.
Vulgar Latin remained the standard, and Gothic died out after not too long.
