Sup /his/,
I'm writing a play I want part of it to involve a Chinese warship from the early 1900s (likely something that was used during the Boxer Rebellion). The problem is that I can't really find much info about Chinese naval vessels, though I do know at some points they used ships from the West.
Was there ever a ship within the last century that the Chinese could call their own? And does anyone here care to share some specs for the ships, or point me to some free PDFs I can grab at? I really want to be able to research the topic so I can give a loyal description.

(most of the junks I'm looking at right now deal with trading / mercantilism)

About a tenth of what your mom can on a good night.
Most Chinese vessels are nowhere near the size they like to be reported as today, when they say they were x time as large as European vessels those sizes usually turn out to be physically impossible using materials from that era

Judging by some looking around, I noticed that many junks were smaller than European vessels. I guess the Chinese focused on vessel speed over vessel size. I just wish I had more concrete info. Anyway, it's coming along slowly. Thanks for sharing.
