Imagine there are only two countries
>country A and country B
>country A is Free Market Direct Democracy
>country B is Communist State
>country A is the biggest producer of food
>country B has a shortage
So, if country B produces goods to trade for food is in fact the whole State working for foreign capitalists that sell said food?
Is it mandatory then that country B doesn't trade with A so that the labour doesn't go to capitalists or invade A so that all means of production are controlled by the workers?
How would communists justify destroying country's A direct democracy as worse than communism?
Communism is a shitload of different Variants, the answer depends on the kind of commies you got.
Oldschool marxists would Just wait for the other country to collapse
Trotzkyists would be obligated to work towards the revolution in the other country.
Stalinists would trade or Go to war, according to the Situation
Maoists would do some dumb shit and provoke unprecedented starvation and bloodshed

would never happen

It's what Marx thought, that capitalism ia just a stage towards communism.
He also expected communism is germany, England or another similar country... Not in shitholes that don't even have a Proletariat

why would meritocracies want a system where everyone is equally shit under an allmighty nepotist policital party?

They don't, we know that now.
Marx didnt realy take into account how much the life of a normal worker improved due to productivity increases, his writing make more sense if you remember how fucked up life for the working class was in his time
