it's protection money
armies aren't gonna equip themselves (well they can but that causes class systems to form).
>>1819802
It's a necessary kind of theft imho
To a certain extent atleast
You should remember that the majority of people have always been, and always will be absolute retards, myself (possibly) included.

Who will build the roads if you don't pay taxes?

Theft is just a legal concept, without a state paid for by tax there is no such thing as theft.
>>1819802
It's not theft, it's your part of a voluntary agreement, that is constantly renegotiated by your chosen representatives. It's a membership fee. Unless you live in North Korea or something, you are perfectly free to renounce your citizenship and move away.

Retards deserve to fail and die.

Not sure if they deserve it but it would benefit everyone else

>Theft is just a legal concept
Theft is also a moral concept, so no it'll still exist in a stateless society.

Why should the state have any obligation to give you free land.
>>1820187
>Why should the state have any obligation to give you free land.
The state doesn't have any obligation to give me free land because it doesn't own the land in the first place.

Property rights are a legal concept. Because of that, harming property rights (theft) cannot be a moral, but a legal issue.

We are speaking within a framework of democracy. You share in the political power of the society, and can vote for the political option that wants to lower taxes/create a party whose only desire is to lower tax/be an activist against taxes. You have consented to obey law by virtue of being a citizen, something that you may end at any time, and are in return given some power in determining the laws. Stop whining.

How do you put yourself above yourself?

This is gonna sound like some deep philosophical bullshit, but hear me out.
You're born, and you get a sister or a brother. Your parents begin teaching you things and buying you things to get you interested in stuff, like a hobby. You like painting, for example, while your sibling likes music and singing. How would you feel if your sibling was given the paint set of your dreams for their birthday? I'd be really upset. "Those are my paints", I'd say until the authority of the house says "Actually no, they BELONG to your sibling". Even your sibling probably feels bad. In fact, it's recognized as an error of judgement, but it stands uncorrected, because your parents are statists and don't care about how you "feel".
If majority of people recognize your claim, even your sibling, that the paints belong to you, then it really should belong to you simply by the virtue of you being associated more with painting.
Property thus is like language. Just because there's a "Dictionary", doesn't mean the language is restricted to a law or dictation; the language is the product of the people who speak it; it's a product of communication.
Likewise, Property is a product of communication. If you believe in "property rights", then you're saying "You can only have this property only if the market says it's yours"
Theft to you means "someone is stealing something that I don't use but legally belongs to me on paper"
Theft to me means "Someone is stealing something that is associated with me.
Is taxation really theft?

The state doesn't own the land, bit it does have sovereignty over it. And it did when you bought it, too. And is in fact the legal entity that gives your ownership any legitimacy.

How do you deal with two people desiring the same commodity and being associated equally with it? How do you deal with a piece of property being associated with another person, but its owner being unwilling to part with it?
This is why we have laws.
