Nothing per say except people will hardly anticipate what they can gain from your acts if unethical is your behavior. That's the reason it's 'frowned' upon, as opposed to a good boy anyone can see coming from miles

Its almost the same as doing something illegal
Its something thats generally seen as wrong to do, but not punished by the state
Fx, for an American to travel to Belgium and legally fuck a 13 year old, may not be illegal, but it would be seen as exceedingly unethical
Its also unethical to put a 3000% markup on HIV medicine, but not illegal
So yeah, being unethical is bad in the eyes of your peers and members of your society, but not in the eyes of the government
You can think of illegal stuff being a subset of unethical stuff
