From all the bad armours in series and stuff you had to pick one than is more or less totally practical bro. A coat of plates with plate armor in the arms. Give him a great helm/bacinet and it's a tipical rich knight of the very late 14th century. Heck, even te sword is on point and totally reasonable. First season game of thrones weapons and armour were top tier for fantasy, they sliped a wee bit with some retarded ones but it's mostly solid.
