Watching him to learn history is like eating fried chicken to gain muscle, instead of diet and exercise.

If you do have a real interest in history, find another source. Read a book, watch a documentary, listen to anything else, because things made to cater to the lazy will not engage you beyond that mindset. Learning is a discipline; did you know that? You put in time and effort to expand your horizons, which takes the will power to start and do, every day. It is fine to start with no knowledge at all, if only you are willing to get it. If you used it to defend Bible studies in class they'd laugh you right out if the room, yet it consistently gets brought up as justification whenever some transparently "progressive" agenda is being pushed and we have to pretend it has some kind of weight to it.
