Originality.
Don't ask for your enlightenment served to you on a silver platter, find it yourself. Only then can you build an understanding of anything and potentially everything. Go nuts, undergo a few Existential Crises, figure out shit that no one you know can figure out, blow away some peoples minds, go against everything anyone says and figure shit out the hard way.
And, have inspiration. No philosopher got into philosophy without inspiration. I recommend look at the works of Plato for starters, and moving onto people like Nietzsche (and learn what to and what not to take out of his words; he really was just an edgy fuck but he had some good things to say). Then move on from there. Have a goal in mind too. Try to prove something, or prove against something, hell, maybe find out that you're wrong and then spread the word and do whatever it takes to prove your newfound philosophy.
