Is it ethical to give strangers cigarettes when they ask for one in passing?
This is maybe a bit redundant but it's been something that bugs me.

It's up too you. I don't see anything wrong with it.
I look at it as, as soon as it leaves my hands its theirs to do whatever with it.
It's not mine anymore. I don't give a shit if he rips up a 5 dollar bill. That would be his loss.

It's unethical not to. What kind of person doesn't share a smoke if they got one?
>>1805081
It just seems from a causal perspective you're not helping the person towards an ethically optimistic goal.

Not your problem.

why?

He asked for a cigarette. He wants one.
You made the decision to give him one. Don't give him one if you truly care about his health.
Do you REALLY care if he smokes that cigarette?
Because I don't. He's making the decision to smoke it.
He can do whatever he wants with that cigarette.
He could throw it on the ground and stomp on it.
Doesn't matter what he does with it. It's not your problem.
Because you made the decision to give it to him in the first place.
