Don't hate Germans. Hate Prussians. They were the ones who ruined Germany and its image. Germany used to be known as a land of cultured, laid-back people. It was a land of liberty and peaceful corporate society.

Then Prussia conquered it. West Germany was Best Germany because it was thoroughly purged from any Prussian influence.

I try explaining to outsiders that the western, northern parts of deutscheland (also called plattdeutsch, low german) has such a lack of culture that they're like puritan era Americans but worse. They're stoic, emotionless, awkward and use some kind of academic pursuit or weird hobby to fill that void. Uptight and humorless, I don't know what causes it but these northern deutsche have some kind of inherent mild autism.


German cultures been stagnant for hundreds of years anyway, circa 1700's or so, without hochdeutsche (high germany, Bayern, Oesterreich), there'd be no german culture, just mindless automata

I think Prussia is the reason for everything evil Germany did in the XIX and XXth centuries.

If Germany had been created as some kind of Union of the Hanseatic League or by the Holy Roman Empire or even Napoleon's Rhine Confederacy, instead of Prussian militarism, it would have been a completely different country.
