Before nationstates there were more or less independent regions.
Nations such as France and the UK used to have regions with own languages and culture and the nationstate almost destroyed them.

Italy had more or less autonomous regions and so on and so on.

Even in my own small country of the Netherlands our regions used to be more or less indepedent and had their own dialects (really languages, if only not THAT different).

The Highlands and the Great Glen are the most Scottish parts of Scotland. South of Hadrian's Wall has never been part of Scotland, never been settled by Scots, and never even claimed by Scotland.

Westmoorland doesn't stretch to the coast, most of the region you've given them is Cumbria and Lancashire.

The Scottish Islands have a culture of their own, but it's not Norse and and certainly the northern tip of Scotland doesn't belong in it.

If you wanted a Norse state, why not York, which you bizarrely have "Anglish"? There was a Roman York, a Welsh York, a Viking York and a modern English York, never an Angle one.

Actually Cumberland and Carlisle were part of the kingdom of Scotland for periods in the Middle Ages. As for the rest like I said this is an Alt his scenario where Northumberland was conquered by Scotland
I'm well aware of Westmorland's historic borders but again this is fantasy. This independent, West Scandinavian speaking country expanded it's borders.
The Scottish Islands are apart of greater Foroyar here and the culture is Norse Gaelic on Innse Gall and Norse in Orkney Shetland and Caithness
York is the only true English state in this scenario after the Angles have been pushed to these borders by Scottish and Norman invasions.
