Why is the improtance of the portugueses empire só underated
The portugueses had massive acomplishments, they basicly created colonialism and modern sea trading networks and their Explorers discover the world by sea and yet most history books overshadow these facts with spain

I don't think the Portuguese are underrated in that regard and they have a top-tier historical reputation for exploration and navigational accomplishments, it's just similar Spanish developments were more politically significant (in a word: Habsburgs) to the rest of the continent and also on a larger scale.
