So Eumeswil basically.
Capitalism isn't an ideology though.
It is just a diffuse term like Feminism that can be used for anything.
You should rather say something like Anglo-capitalism, or Bretton-Woods, or Washington consensus, or Rhine Capitalism, or Mercantilism, or Nordic social market economy or some shit. All of it is capitalism, all of it is different.
yes, in a purely economic context yes. But it isn't a means to an end in itself. You need more.
Free market growth is a means to an end

it is autism. It is the absolute essence of autism.
It is a purely abstract construction and ignores reality.

The market has information that one cannot get from a planned economy (or something I want to sleep). See Hayek.
But laissez faire doesn't work either.
And capitalism - almost a kind of boogeyman word - has its flaws. We do not seem to have an answer for the rampant environmental decay that is happening.
And as a student of ecology I am actually one of the few who thinks that nature (the environment) is much stronger and resilient as most environmentalists and conservationist think and state.
Last note: I think that a systems perspective is important to understanding the economy. The book "The origin of wealth" was interesting in that regard, though I am looking for more.

And you're
