I always feel like the paintings and drawings of these kind of uniforms look way better than what I see in reenactments (or legit uniforms, are any of them still left?)
They always look kind of ill-fitting, and something just seems off. The ones in your pic aren't as bad as some others though.

They're both portraying the same thing, except the guys in the second image treat is as a costume club to prance around and pretend they're sharpe, rather than convey actual history to people

One of the problems I have with reenactment uniforms is the amount of fat people. Normal soldiers then were very thin by todays standards so they look shitty. Also uniforms on campaign would have looked far dirtier and worn out. Another thing is the mediocre ability for reenactors to do the drill and movements that well.
