I always feel like the paintings and drawings of these kind of uniforms look way better than what I see in reenactments (or legit uniforms, are any of them still left?)
They always look kind of ill-fitting, and something just seems off. The ones in your pic aren't as bad as some others though.

Because most re-enactment are garbage
Watch movies like Waterloo or the Soviet War and Peace to see how it really looked like
Don't judge

>Markings on the canteen not being G ^ R
>Drummer boy in reverse facing jacket
>Sergeant not wearing a sash
>Linen stock on the private
>Sergeant carrying the colours
>Blanket is the wrong colour and has no G ^ R markings
> REEEEEEEEEEEEE
Pretty fancy I must say.

Some re-enactments are garbage,
Spot the difference between good re-enactors...

...And bloody bad ones
They're both portraying the same thing, except the guys in the second image treat is as a costume club to prance around and pretend they're sharpe, rather than convey actual history to people

One of the problems I have with reenactment uniforms is the amount of fat people. Normal soldiers then were very thin by todays standards so they look shitty. Also uniforms on campaign would have looked far dirtier and worn out. Another thing is the mediocre ability for reenactors to do the drill and movements that well.
