What does /his/ think of welfare? Is it needed? Does it promote laziness and dependence? Should it be scrapped?
I was reading a news article earlier today about two teenagers who receive welfare here (Australia) and were happy to not work, but are apparently at risk of getting their benefits cut off now as result of government intervention. Whilst this is a poor example, at the same time, welfare does have it uses in helping people through difficult times.
So, what does /his/ think?

I believe in welfare, but it should be for building human capital/skills or being miserable, but not starving.
it's important in sustaining our NEET lifestyles
Unemployment is only going to rise in the future, it's inevitable, welfare is a necessity for the economy

Or socialism. If you give a man a robot, it will feed him for life. It's not like those rich capitalist robot plantation owners are going to be working either.

Finance creates laziness and dependence. That's why people hate Jews and bankers. Finance is useful, but it certainly doesn't make the loaners work hard for their income. It's only useful because money is useful, not the person who owns the money. The person who owns the money just happens to be a lazy usury recipient.

I think it is practical in that unemployment is never going away, and positive in that it provides more freedom to the citizenry. Over all a good thing. The fact that a few people will abuse it is not a big concern of mine, I think it's a bad idea to destroy a good thing to spite some poor people.
Welfare is basically a good thing, at least how it is in Australia. I think it needs to be more comprehensive and holistic though, and more flexible. It shouldn't just be about handing out cash to poor people, but about prevention of all negative outcomes and improvement of general wellbeing. So with that, there should be more auxiliary services offered and proactively targeting people for support. Examples I could see:
>turboautist gets nervous in class presentation, teacher refers him to something like Toastmasters
>seek treatment for mental health, automatically escalated to a specialist caseworker who can deal with you more flexibly
>got kids? here's a coupon for childcare so you can attend an interview at the drop of a hat
There's just so many obvious things they could do, but don't. It's really stupid.
Also, the "Green Army" was always a dumb idea.

Welfare is not negative to the economy as it promotes creation of goods
It's okay, as long as you avoid the welfare-slavery that they have in America.

Technological innovation has only ever increased long run employment, it's an unsubstantiated myth that robots will kill jobs. See the Luddites for an example of people who thought as you did and were proved wrong.
