Can we talk about the snowniggers a bit? Not the VIKINGR RAID LOL GET WRECKED BUTTFUCKED FAGGOTS LOL SUCKED but the majority of them who were farmers and craftsmen? I'd like to get some books on them and all I can ever really find is stuff on the Vikingr themselves. While interesting, I'm more interested in domestic life and that.
Any recommendations? Any discussion to be had about the Scandinavians?
The North did nothing wrong, the Southern North Sea empire had no right to secede
The Icelandic sagas sometimes hint a bit into the life of the people in the backround of the grand tales, for example Auðuns tale is about a farmer who bought a polar bear and traveled to the pope to show him. It shows some customs and looks into the life of the Norse
Keep in mind that most Viking seafarers were traders, not raiders.
They did for Northern Europe what the Italian merchant states did for Southern Europe.

Tribal society with mostly farmers, fishermen, traders and craftsmen. They established alot of international trade states(Köpingar) around the coasts. They spread their culture to England, Russia, Normandie and possibly as far as Ukraine but that is not noticable.
Since people only wrote on wood or in stone(which was very expensive) not much is written down. At least not from Scandinavian sources.
There are Roman sources(IIRC) who says the men where tall and breed good horses. But they might have been talking about Germania in general.
