So a while back I found out my mother's grandmother was a Picard. Would it be a valid move to change my surname to Picard or does that go against traditional naming conventions and the like for a man to take his maternal great grandmother's maiden name because he thinks his current one it shit?
Also post heraldry and crests and the like. That's historical right?
