Someone did put "Human Lands" and the "Great Land without Humans" in Google Translate, And finally get bored and wrote the rest on English?
Pretty lame as linguistic, more so while memeing IndoEuropeans.

linguistics is a broad field. there are people who examine historical changes and the contexts in which it happens, which makes them kind of anthro-lite. there are computational liguists who work with mathematical theory, automation, and decryption, and neurology. there are theorists who make up grand theories that no one cares about because they're unfalsifiable.
choose one.

I posted this in a thread earlier and I literally got ooga booga'd at.
it's not as far out, in terms of iq requirements as physics, but unlike physics, there's no "normie" content. you just have to dive straight into basic computation theory and neurology

prepare to ooga booga. the standard response to this kind of stuff is to bury your head in the sand and say "NUH UH IT'S RELALY SIMPLE. AN ENLIGHTENMENT PHILOSOPHER FROM 200 YEARS AGO SAID SO."

If it weren't for my monolingualism, then this would seem like a field I could study.

expectations are that you should be able to speak 3 languages fluently. one of them would generally be somewhat exotic.
it's actually one of the few extremely lucrative fields at the moment. if you have the quantitative skills to do it, I wouldn't shoot it down.
