Like seriously, troops from Suffolk were better armed (I can't think of any kind of evidence to suggest that the Highlanders were particularly small for the time, in fact quite the opposite).

Add to that the fact that the Highlanders would actually be familiar with the terrain they were campaigning in, the New Englanders would have been raped. And where, in fact, raped.

I don't know how much different it would've been, besides Scotland maybe becoming its own Kingdom again and Highland culture staying stronger.

Well precisely, they were just random settlers who happened to be from Scotland, no one said anything about them actually being highlanders. Furthermore the main point as I said was the fact that the Highlanders knew the terrain they were fighting in.
