this is really cool. Thanks!
Nicholas II - the Russian emperor - was really fucking incompetent, which caused civil unrest. He tried to solve problems with shitty half measures that didn't work and was eventually deposed by a social-democratic party led by a man called Kerensky, this event is called February revolution. Kerensky was also very incompetent and was eventually pushed away from power by bolshevik party led by a swell dude called Lenin, this event is called October revolution. Russia left WW1, formed soviet union and freaked the fuck out of entente, so they launched several interventions into new soviet union while sponsoring some officers of the Russian army that started a revolt against communists, calling themselves "white army". That event is known as civil war. Eventually communists won, Empra and his family got killed in a basement somewhere and Lenin, realising that an agrarian country can't suddenly jump into socialism launched "new economic policy", which brought back some elements of market economy to Soviet Union. Then Lenin died and Stalin came to power.

Germans and Americans send their jews with a lot of money to kickstart Revolution there.
Russia capitulated to Germany and Brest-Livotsk was signed. - 1 milion German Army from that front was used by Reds to destroy White Russian Army.
It was the Germans, as always.

you're welcome

Germany probably only helped Russia in the sense that it spared them the years of civil war that probably would have transpired without outside assistance or the decisive campaigns of the Eastern Front of 1914-1916. By helping the Reds' cause, they helped tip the balance towards one side whereas leaving it completely up to the fractured and ineffective Russian government to deal with their insurgency would have only ended with more lives lost and perhaps a delayed rise of a Soviet state.

Also civil unrest was growing stronger long before reign of Nicholas II - Alexander II was murdered by radicals and Alexander III did not get away without homicide attempts from rebels. Nicholas II recieved Russia as exhausted empire with huge credit debt and outdated industrial complex. And WWI nailed the coffin.
