Funny you say that, reading and believing in anything but the words which appear in the OT is actual heresy. If you do not practice the OT word for word, you're a heretic. It's pretty explicit about that too. Deuteronomy is a fun read.

Why is this still a debate? Jesus didn't claim to be the literal son of god and would have been horrified if you had suggested it to him, it's excusable that historically Christians didn't know this because the various churches are so tremendously dishonest that they did everything they could to suppress it, but given modern scholarship on the subject it amazes me that people are still confused about this.

Jesus was a man, he may have been the Jewish Messiah (although Jews don't think so) but you'd have to be pretty obtuse to conflate him with Jehova.

Literally nowhere in the bible does it separate 'you' from these israelites. Someone else, outside of the bible has done that. And you subscribe to that idea.
