To be fair, Poland didn't attack him. Only Saxony did. Polish estates bluntly refused Augustus II to participate in the war, preferring instead to go against Brandenburg or Russia. Only after the power of Swedish autism invaded, Poland got embroided. And Poles were extremely divided on how to react, cause Augustus II was already deemed as a catastrophic failure.

And when we kicked them out they retreated into polish lands and we merely followed them. Augustus II attacked Sweden in his capacity of Prince Elector of Saxony. He wanted to carve out his own private duchy in Livland. Poland told him to go fuck himself with his war plans.

Poles didn't let his army through to attack Sweden. Augustus II stationed Saxon units in Lithuania to restore order after violence erupted between two Lithuanian noble factions. He yet again had ulterior motives, contributing to his abysmal reputation. Augustus is universally hated in Poland, if you didn't know.

It would be a small wonder if he wasn't, considering what he lead Poland into.
If Poland asked him to fuck off, how did he get his army there? Charles saw no difference between Saxony and Poland which is what I meant. And what was he supposed to do? Sweden had invaded Poland dozens of times so why not try again. The saxon army had retreated back into Poland, who's to say they won't try again if the swedes just lut them go?

Violence erupted in Lithuania between two magnate factions. In this delicate situation no one wanted to use regular Polish-Lithuanian army. You know, because officers were friends/relatives of basically all involved. So, officially to restore order, Augustus II brought in Saxon units and stationed them in Lithuania. A stone's throw from Swedish Livonia.

No. Sweden was not a like that at all. Sweden was a state that created an efficient system of conscription, drafting and drilling, as well as revolutionary use of artillery and having tactically superior generals.

They also had much effective system of battle properly utilising the technologies of the day, especially during their military advance, they fired several volleys at enemy as they advanced from different distances and then charged in to melee, as they were better drilled they also won in melee but often times enemy army just routed and got slaughtered by the cavalry.
