Would a democratic government installed in Germany been able to be rearmed in 1946 with very bitter Wehrmacht veterans fighting with NATO support and go on to slap the shit out of Soviet Russia?

>bitter Wehrmacht veterans
I don't think teenagers and old men would fight very well
Soviets would have steamrolled Germany... Again. So no
>>1644445
>Wehrmacht veterans
There were little to none so no

There were hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of captured german POWs. That's not counting those that laid down their arms on May 8th.
Having said that, germans were pretty tired of war by 1945.

Not really. About the only way this is even theoretically feasible is if the Americans, instead of slacking off military production in late 1944 like they did historically, continue their gearing up and keep it going even after the war ends, and Stalin somehow misses it entirely.
And even then, you
A) Now have an evenish fight in the short term and a large Western Allied advantage in the long term
B) Germany's contribution would be largely irrelevant, this is essentially a U.S. vs USSR brawl, with some smaller countries on the side.

If this is anything to go by ideologically yes en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_for_Castle_Itter
Patton was adamant that the Western Allies alone could have had a good hack at it and that 1945 was the only time they would have the chance.
With Germanys aid better yet but really Germany was decimated it would have to take a much earlier surrender to the Western Allies for this to ever have come to pass.

If the Wehrmacht at the height of their power ultimately was crushed by the Red Army, a rearmament of old men and 16 year olds wouldn't have a snowballs chance in hell.
Also, Russia's grip on East Germany was a their insurance guaranty against such an outcome, with 1/4 of the country under a puppet regime, Russia pretty much held Germany by the balls for the decade after the war, it wasn't until the establishment of West Germany could they even have some form of diplomatic clout when it came to relations with East Germany and the Warsaw Pact, let alone military pressure.
