Now that I think about it, I think he probably was. Was the egoist bullshit part of his long term plan to irritate the hell out of Young Hegelians?
The thing about Stirner that makes him so fucking funny is that he derived no "oughts" from "is". Basically, he's not attempting to demonstrate a way of thinking or way of life, he's just making an observation on how people think based off of phenomenological reality. That's really hard to argue against without contradicting observable phenomenological reality, which makes you sound retarded.
He was the greatest intelectual memist since Voltaire.

That's why I love Stirner.
He was such a shit-stirrer that he even got Marx riled up.
No, why would you think that? His philosophy is both sound and a fine way to approach life. It's not exactly an alien school of thought either, Yang of the Taoist tradition had similar views.
I'd wager Stirner only sounds as radical as he does because our traditions stem from Plato and Aristotle.
He copied Ayn Rand.

>phenomenological reality
I guess mental projections or sensory dimensional cross-sections exist in themselves, but I'm not sure if they're necessarily indicative or representative of other things that exist.

You do realise that Stirner came BEFORE Ayn Rand, yes?
