It was secondary theater no one was paying attention to, it was literally of zero importance, so after the bombing runs on Hanoi 'mericans decided to call it a win, quit it and focus completely on the primary theater which was the Soviet Union and trying to figure out a way to overcome Soviet air superiority over european and north american skies with the new mig25.
