Yes. Territory they lost in a peace deal after the germans declared war on them, and slaughtered millions of their young men just 20 years ago. The idea of friendly Russian-German relations this early post-WWI is batshit ridiculous. What's next, the French putting aside their butthurt revanchism and becoming best buds with Kaiser Wilhelm and Bismarck? Even that idea seems less crazy.

Hitler wouldn't need to attack an Imperial Russia. An Imperial Russia would have probably joined up with the French the moment the allies declared.
