Sir, athiesm society has only just begun. I feel euphoric knowing so that the wealth amassed in the first world is a leading cause of atheism. Thus we see wealth leading to atheism and this atheism hopefully lead to more wealth.

I fear though, good sir, that once living standards decrease people will need to believe in something or else they will perish all too easily.

Stay vigilant atheists, we cannot let religion take its course once again.

We're left with Folk Chinese Religion. And this is where it gets confusing for westerners. Because "Atheism/theism" is inherently Western/Middle Eastern religious discourse. In China, they believed in an omnipotent, all encompassing force that pervades all the universe. Later called Tian (heaven). This force is manifested in several ways, notably the "Shen" (literally: expressions/personifications) who are figures who exist to manage creation.

Europeans erroneously translated "Shen" into "Gods" just because of all the stupid temples dedicated to them. Their "worship," however, is basically honoring & acknowledging them, but by and large, the Shen do not give a shit about humanity since they are busy running existence. They have no dogma, did not tell mortals that they were the only gods, nor governed their morality, nor can be asked for favors & blessings.

For that, you asked your ancestors.

The belief that the """"""gods""""" do not give a fuck about humanity because they're busy with something else also isnt exclusive to the Chinese alone. And if you look at Chinese/East Asian morality, it IS largely based on Philosophy.

The discourse of atheism/theism is largely tainted by western/middle eastern abrahamic interpretations of a "god." You can have a religion without a God. Spirits, ascended ancestors/teachers, totems, and "Paragons" can also be the focus of religious belief.

Atheism only prevail in peaceful time and place. They have everything handed to them by god fearing people,only for them to spit on their faith and ask"why do they do these and that, its ridiculous".
