This thread is for discussion of the West's common Roman heritage and how to spread knowledge of it to the hoi polloi other than "reform the entire educational system and restore classical history to its rightful place in the curriculum." No shit-flinging about who is "the true heir of Rome" or modern politics, please. Patton is always related to Rome, even in Rule 63 anime form.

It shows itself in the mission statement of the West.
'We shall raise ourselves on the backs of the barbarians, but we shall drag them upwards with us'
This has been Western civilization's goal for centuries.

Anime.
Stefan Molyneux's talk about the Fall might be a good place to start on education of the plebeians, but nowadays they have the attention span of a flea on meth, and the video is two hours long.

It would have to be accompanied by a massive marketing campaign, considering that even Cartoon Network doesn't have the reach it did when we were kids to introduce a bunch of Americans to Sailor Moon, Pokemon, and DBZ.

I don't think they're really getting at a new audience with Toonami, I think they're pretty much relying on us that grew up with it.
I submit as evidence their commercials 'it's okay if you haven't accomplished what you want out of your life, you can still do good' sort of things. If you've watched it lately, you know what I'm talking about.

It's hard to do without colonialism, which at this point is a poison pill. So I guess it starts at making colonialism glorious and righteous again.

you cn't be serious. Show me le one dollar man's history degree.

I think we have an angle on that, as far as Socratic guiding one on one goes. "Where would you rather live?"
The downside of socratic teaching is that it doesn't scale from a tiny splinter group of anime frogposters to 150 million or so white people in the US. We need something positive about colonialism that sticks in the brain like a good /b/ meme does.

Show me one thing he claims about the Fall of Rome that is factually incorrect.

You don't need to have a college degree in history to know history....

no, but skipping to 1:14:00 I see a list of memes I often see
The Roman empire had experienced civil war, assassinations, currency debasement and insane emperors before. The emergence of the Sassanids, Goths and Vandals and the plague of Cyprian exacerbated these pre-existing problems in the 3rd century.
Attributing everything to inflation is obviously part of his heavily memed agenda, le fiat currency is pure evil etcetera...
