I'm looking for an introductory book on economics. Basically, what I'm looking for is a rundown of general economic terms and principles followed by a rundown of prominent economic schools of thought. Could you please reccomend something?

Economics for Dummies (Spot on with Market Mechanics but its kidna of a keynesian shillfest)
Economics a user's guide (Good general explination of diffrint economic schools)
If you want the foundation text on how capitalism works i strongly recommend A Treatise on Political Economy by Say and On the Principles of Political Economy and Taxation by David Ricardo.
Dont go in Autrian stuff except Sowell as its just wishfull thinking that we ever will get free market capitalism again.

Only thing that book does is give the reader an introduction in classic econ while destroying mercantilism. Only read that book if you are interested in knowing why mercantilism is shit. SMith does write better and more comfy compared to Ricardo who is smugg as fuck.
