They are memes, but not "just memes". This is all very real.

West slavs have the most archaic cromagnon dna and their heritage consists mainly of being subject to the cocubines and eunuchs of the Ottoman empire. They received respite however, Yugoslavia was created for them after ww1 and they were blessed with one of the few benevolent dictators in history, the civilising mission appeared to be a success and they had a lot of potential to become relevant, regardless they decided to balkanize and have a war instead of remaining united. They literally chose memes over becoming a 1st world country, investing in schools, hospitals, sanitation, education etcetera...

Why? Because they are memes, naturally they were going to choose their own over anything else.
