You do realize the Vikings outnumbered the Franks significantly and the Franks had little more than the local levy at their disposal?
Not to take away from the Viking victory, but 7,000 veteran raiders against 4,000 Levy isn't much of a fight, the fact the Frankish men were even able to put up a fight is a testament to their bravery.
