Why has the Catholic church made its Holy Cities primarily in Italy and made Latin it's church language?
It seems to have attached it's itself to the Latin people and former Roman empire and I can't see why other than outright politics and power play.

>I can't see why other than outright politics and power play.
You seem to be on the right track

>outright politics and power play.
Probably because Christianity was founded in the Roman empire.
Seems pretty obvious to me.
>>1539907
>it seems to have attached itself to the former Roman Empire
You have that the wrong way around
>>1540336
huh?
It was all the plebs fault
>>1540345
It wasn't Christianity attaching itself to the Roman Empire. The early Christian's despised Rome and were in turn despised by Romans. Had to practice in secret, fed to lions, all that spiel.
It was the Romans who softened and converted

It didn't "attach" itself to Rome. Romans created it.
The decadent roman practice of distributing free bread created a very large class of people who were dependant on bread handouts for their survival (these were the plebs). Frankly they were fucking untermensch who were too weak and stupid to survive on their own. The plebs were the first christians. It got so out of hand that the Roman Emperor had to (as a political move to appease the plebs) recognize Christianity as a state religion. And it all went downhill from there.

>Romans
Pfft. A lot of important Christians like St. Augustine were from Africa.
>>1540393
>Scholars generally agree that Augustine and his family were Berbers, an ethnic group indigenous to North Africa, but that they were heavily Romanized, speaking only Latin at home as a matter of pride and dignity.

Kek, implying all that bullshit they said about Nero was true.
>The Romans softened and converted
You mean they managed to get an Emperor and then proceeded to act out their barbarism and forced conversions.
>>1540390
this.
Hopefully it won't end the same way this time with the muslims.
>>1540393
North Africa was Roman before the sand people spread Islam through it again
>>1539907
Because it was where St. Peter, founder of the church and first Bishop of Rome, died

It's gotta be somewhere with people and prosperity. Would you start a church in the middle of Antarctica? Try spreading the word without modern technology.
