Is USA the spiritual successor of Roman Empire ?

In the first few years, yes the USA had some of the most intelligent politicians of their time. As well as visionary.
But along the way the USA become a dump, a shadow of what was originally conceived.

The constitution has become like some kind of religious text, like a Bible or Quran. These things used to change in the past as well, but now it's just referred to them whenever there is any problem that needs resolving.
