I don't think it's worth the read. It's just spewed with Shopenhauer's nonsense about how Will is just another form of power, or the supreme form of power and terror, I guess. I don't like it much. If you're going for nihilism, go Nietzsche. Take it to it's upmost level.

Ol' Schopy prided himself on clarity of writing. If you are concerned about pre-requisites, you should know a bit of Kant (to say the least) as Schopenhauer goofs around with Kant's categories. Try Fourfold Root... as an intro to Schopenhauer's thought as it informs The World as Will... and he stood by it years later even though it was his doctoral work.
