I believe there was a 4 hour long silent biopic that covered his early life up to his invasion of Italy. As far as I can recall it was a French/Italian production and was intended to be the first in a series. I wouldn't trust modern studios to get the correct balance between Forest as a brilliant, self taught commander, and as a semi-racist former slave salesmen, but I still want a biopic about Forest starting with his self-made fortune and continuing until he disbands the first Klan.

It wouldn't be much of a war epic. The only Confederates Sherman's troops actually encountered after leaving Atlanta were a smattering of cavalry and some partisans.

There weren't even that many skirmishes.

Tsar Nicholas II , it would be a classic Greek tragedy.

I mean just think about it. He was, by all accounts, a good person. A loving father, a devoted husband and a person who was fundamentally 'good'. His main flaw, not vice, was that he was weak and incompetent - plus a weak and incompetent Russia, then boom, we have a tragic hero.

His children would also be a bloody great arc. The male heir, heir to the entire empire, a weak and small boy, also the youngest of 5, the rest girls. Would address themes of masculinity and social ridicule.
From the sources, the sisters were all strong willed girls. Their father genuinely loved them and allowed them quite a breadth of freedom, explores theme feminist ideals - especially when paralleled with the cult of masculinity.

Then we have the Tsarina Alexandria, a woman hated by HER people even though she was blameless of any evils (except Rasputin of course). Her struggles in an anti-German aristocracy would address issues of isolation and acceptance.

At its heart it would be a family drama, imagine the Starks in GOT - an ultimately good, but doomed, family. Add in a set of colourful characters like Rasputin and a backdrop of WW1/ the revolution.

Boom, cult classic.

In general this is a swashbuckler movie but both leaders are shown given speech before the final encounter. This scene stuck up with me. I didn't expect glory given where its due. I have no idea how Turkish people would react now to a similar scene though. Recent conquest movie depicted all Byzantine as cowards.
