1. Who would win?

2. Are we in a post-happening epoch? You look back at those two and look at today and realise that no one believes in anything anymore. You laugh at the Stirner meme but ironic snark tears down any attempt at any ideology.

Tear down my stupid view of the world but here is how I basically view history.

Everything to 1900: Naive toddlers playing kings and queens

1900-1945: Turbulent teenage maturation

1945 - Now: Wageslave boredom, nothing happens

So it's basically like if the presidental election was betwen Bernie and Trump?
>>
> Are we in a post-happening epoch?
t. Francis Fukuyama

Hitler probably
assuming both were fluent in English Hitler is a pretty good speaker and flamboyant which Americans love, meanwhile Stalin had a little squeaky voice and wasn't really that cut out for populism so much as being manipulative behind the scenes.

remember that Hitler actually was a democratic politician and won so that says enough for his electability.
>>
>>1483654
On other hand, if you accounting for Hitler to be, well... literally Hitler, I don't know if he can carry this one with his standard speech about de jews ruining everything. He got pretty bad starting PR.
>>
>>1483689
even Literally Hitler kept the Jew rhetoric on the down low until he had secured power
if you look at early speeches/propaganda Jew references were barely there or extremely subtle.
>>
>>1483654
IRL Hitler never really won, had the DVP not made a coalition with him(he later jailed lots of them, lol) and commies would win the election instead.

>I don't know if he can carry this one with his standard speech about de jews ruining everything. He got pretty bad starting PR
If he was running for American Presidency this would not be an issue.

>de jews ruining everything

You know that was literally the platform of an entire American political party right?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/People%27s_Party_(United_States)
>Some Populists believed that Jews made up a class of international financiers whose policies had ruined small family farms, they asserted, owned the banks and promoted the gold standard, the chief sources of their impoverishment. Agrarian radicalism posited the city as antithetical to American values, asserting that Jews were the essence of urban corruption.[25]

>>1483731
>In the 1950s, however, scholars such as Richard Hofstadter portrayed the Populist movement as an irrational response of backward-looking farmers to the challenges of modernity. He discounted third party links to Progressivism and argued that Populists were provincial, conspiracy-minded, and had a tendency toward scapegoatism that manifested itself as nativism, anti-Semitism, anti-intellectualism, and Anglophobia.

Your view of history is heavily biased towards the 20th and 19th centuries and is probably totally Eurocentric. There are things happening right now in Asia that we don't quite understand but will shape the course of history to come.
>>
>>1482459
you realize things have in fact happened
>>
>>1483743
It's America-centric. Only Americans think:

I feel like Hitler would win, easily.

Look at America today-a real fear of a group of easily identified and distunguished people to due ongoing acts of violence against civilians.

Riding off that fear, and mixing it with those who already had a hatred, he of all people could really rile up the nation.

Undoubtedly, the liberals and many others would defy him-but this would eventually lead to "he has some things right but he takes it too far!!!" at which point all it takes is one more slip up from the opponent or one more viscous attack and suddenly, Hitler is the only one who can lead us against this menace.

Propaganda is fucking powerful, and America of all places is HUGELY weak to it.
>>
>>1482459
1. no idea who would win, since the situation is totally unrealistic. i would vote for hitler, though
>>
Trick question. Hitler would lead the polls, but one day before elections he would die from suspicious reasons.

the US would never let a stalinist to run for the presidency, maybe they would let trotskyists to run

We live in the propaganda era. Alternative ideas and visions of how things could look do not get a platform by the media and are in fact muddied up by the shapers of public mind and politicians (like Sanders calling his program socialism, the twat). Seriously, if you asked the average person to give you a simple one-line definition of what capitalism and socialism is, less than 1 person out of 100 could give you an accurate answer. Enormous efforts are undertaken to distract people from what is going on in their lives so they don't get silly ideas of doing something about it.
>>
>>1483711
>implying the coalition got him into the chancellor office
It really was mostly the right-wing lobbists that wanted Hindenburg to put a popular "conservative" into power rather than a leftist
>>
>>1483654
Stalin had much more of an alpha personality, Hitler was shy and mildly autistic
>>
>>1482459

I feel like most people would vote for Hitler because at least he's not a fucking commie.
>>
>>1484901
He is though.
>>
>>1484914
He's a fairly mild form of socialist, totally different thing. Stalin was also a socialist, but a much more extreme one who also pretended to be advancing the goal of communism
>>
Hitler has my vote easily
