Exercise produces endorphins. Is it because I just finished a good workout and I know I worked hard etc. that I feel good and that's where the endorphins are coming from, or is it because exercise produces endorphins in and of itself that I feel good?
To what extent can we say our brain chemistry is just a physical reflection of our inner states, instead of the other way around?
