Germany is essentially Italy.

The world is much, much better.

The Protestant north would attempt to secede in some form, a southern Federation of states would eventually include German Austria. Assuming the Prussian didn't solely dominate the north, it would establish close ties with Scandinavia, Netherlands and Baltic nations. Whereas the south would be dealing with southern and Eastern Europe and would possibly lead colonization efforts in Africa and Oceania. They would either be rivals or different to each other depending on how they formed and French influence

Kinda like if the 1848 revolution had succeded. You still had the prussian king as Kaiser, but with Frankfurt as capital and the Prussians being just a part equal to the Bavarians, Saxons, Würrtembergers, Mecklenburger and so on. Prussian provinces like Hannover, Silesia or Westphalen would also become independent again in the Empire and equal to their prussian overlords.

Germany was hatched from a cannonball.WW1 would have happened anyways. By then, the Germans put most of their defense into the western front...Eastern Prussia was an afterthought in the eyes of the elite.
