And British,American and French involvement.Let's face it,men like Milosevic,Izetbegovic and Tudjman were great orators, but they've simply lacked the resources, the reputation and the diplomatic standing to cause such a devastating conflict all by themselves. They've had outside assistance, lot of it's in fact.

Trying not to be bias while discussing <anything> having to do with Serbs in political and military positions, is something other people outside the Balkan region have lots of trouble understanding; the stories of political subversion to keep themselves in power while at the same time genociding and ethnically cleansing everybody else do seem a bit unplausible - yet the stories are completely true.

Serbs were trying to turn Yugoslavia into Greater Serbia.
Slovenia leaves giving Serbs an absolute majority.
Croatia tries to leave, and happens to have a bunch of Serbs living in it.
Bosnia tries to leave, and happens to have a bunch of every demographic living in it.
NATO seizes the opportunity to snuff out Yugoslavia for good.

>yet the stories are completely true
That's true, but at least to some extent.
Croats usually tend to forget the fact that they've also played a hand in causing the tensions that've ultimately broken Yugoslavia apart. The Zagreb-Belgrade rivalry was only kept in check during Tito' time.Ante Markovic has proven to be a good problem solver, but he was too diplomatic to keep their antagonism in check.
Army should've staged a coup and Marković should be backed by them.
Milošević, Tuđman and Izetbegović put on trial for treason.
There, problem solved.
In ALL republics you had a huge mass of pro-Yugoslav people or neutral people. Nationalists were a minority and reason they prevailed is because all these three seized power in all three republics, starting with Milošević.
JNA was made of spineless people, that's why Yugoslavia disappeared in bloodshed.

And just to finish: they were fed, clothed, settled and enjoyed all privileges given to them by the state for 50 years.
If you ask any ex-YNA officer, most will say they're pro-Yugoslav.
So why did you let Milošević seize control?
Bunch of spineless cucks.
America fucked up
primarily fault of milošević being absolutely batshit + heavy american intervention intended to fragment the region and prevent any russian re-domination

>and prevent any Russian re-domination
There wasn't any Russian domination to begin with, but there was a plan to significantly relations with Russia.
