Right now the price of uranium is so low that nobody bothers, but we could easily get a lot more bang for our buck.

The one casualty would be the suburb, as oil prices would become high enough, and electricity based mass transport cheap enough, that the majority of people would stop owning cars and start riding streetcars or subways.

How is that a problem? I understand that privately-owned cars are needed for some very specific routes, or for carrying more stuff, but I might be missing a point.

True, true. I don't like driving but kids going home by bus does piss me off. I just think that carrying more people going in the same direction is more efficient and eco-friendly. 1-2 persons riding a car meant for 4-8 people just seems wasteful to me.

Renewable energy in the long term, probably some fission in the short term transitionary period. Obviously not a long term solution.

Fusion is a complete pipe dream and will never happen. Solar, hydropower and wind combined with increased energy storage and more efficient appliances is more than enough for a sustainable energy production.

Obviously cars will become antiquated and silly, really, transporting 1 person in huge 5 seat vehicle? So inefficient.

We'll have to learn all this the hard way though, seeing as the world is filled with short sighted edgy tards
