So /his/, what was the mortality rate for tankers in the Second World War? How difficult was the tank academy? How difficult was it to be accepted into the tank academy?

>what was the mortality rate for tankers in the Second World War?
The general rule of thumb was 1 KIA and 1-2WIA per tank knocked out.
> How difficult was the tank academy?
More difficult than infantry school as all crew members are cross trained into other roles and they had to do most of their own maintenance.
>How difficult was it to be accepted into the tank academy?
For US, not hard. For slavs, be a manlet. Not sure for Germans but they always had a shortage of tanks to crew members.
Can anyone recommend any good books on the life of tankers, particularly German ones.

>For slavs, be a manlet
i always found it ingenious in some way that instead wasting money and armour making tanks and planes more spacious they just recruited short guys instead
