If your government is not clever/inclined to keep your money locked down, they are monkeys.

If you are not clever enough to minimize your losses (aka play scrooge mcduck in the legal grey areas so you save as much money as possible) then you are also a monkey.

Large parts of Switzerland were settled during the Middle Ages by the Walser. They went into the previously sparsely populated or uninhabited higher regions of the Swiss Alps and found new ways to cultivate the land there. In return for colonising these harsh areas they got special privileges (no serfdom, low tax,...) and could create their own laws. Maybe one reason behind the Swiss love for freedom and autonomy.
