If someone would go into short distance as careless as these guys doing LARP wrestling, they'd have the tip of a pike or sword in an uncomfortable spot

I get the impression that those who participate in this are very violent people who just want the pleasure of kicking guys in the nuts, without the discipline and training of learning a real martial art.

This, actual medieval men at arms would know at least the basics of marital arts, they would target vulnerable points in armor rather than bash at each other.

Hema is probably the most realistic look at how European men at arms would have fought, Its alot more interesting to watch too. At least if you know anything about swordsmanship.

It always amazes me how interested people are in weapons like swords but have no idea how the weapons in question were actually handled.
