Fucking 10/10 sallet
>>1094336
So you'd like to go to war in a prop from some Wagner opera?
>>1093305
It's a shame Greeks only ever seem to be depicted with corinthian helmets.
>>1094931
>>1093151
Hmm
>>1093298
Did they actually wear those wings on their helms in battle?
>see a really fucking awesome helmet/weapon/suit of armor
>discover it was just for ceremony
There is no worse feel
>>1094953
The best.
>>1094953
How effective would this thing be in real life?
I really don't know much about late medieval combat, but I suspect that it isn't sloped enough to make a blow from above glance away. The massive slit also looks like a prime target for a thrust.
>>1094933
I know that feel.
In 200 years, will the Don be called, Trump the Great? Perhaps worshipped as a god? Perhaps, Trump Caesar Augustus Mexicanicus Maximus?
>>1094973
Its round so it deflects really well. Though i think being that big doesent help much.
>>1093501
Kek
>>1094941
What the fuck.
>>1094336
Obvious b8.
At least samurai helmets with horns are genuinely historical and are actually aesthetic.
>>1094960
well some dark souls armor could be very effective in real life
>>1093347
>Brits
>made in Germany
>>1094973
It vaguely resembles armour that could have been worn at foot combat tournaments. For actual field combat it would likely be too heavy, offer too poor visibility and not be mobile enough though.
>>1094933
>picks that thracian helmet
>>1093151
Reminds me of pic related.
what do you know about barbutes? when and where were they used?
>>1098182
Italy. Mid to late 15th century.
>>1098213
Thanks. I always associate them with D&D and RPGs in general since that's the first place I ever saw them.
>>1098242
They appear and then vanish again. Presumably because having a giant hole forming a perfect channel directly to where your eyes are, isn't so great an idea.
>>1098413
Yeah how dumb, they should have just brought this back.
>>1095143
It was my father's major bummer, and his father's before him
>>1094977
Give the Nazis all the shit you want but they had a fucking great aesthetic
>>1093163
That's not an M1 helmet.
>you will never take to the field alongside Kamen Rider
>>1094941
Knight feels: the helmet
>>1098601
Ayy Lmao
>>1093158
>Dem glasses
10/10 but seriously what the fuck
>>1098457
hope you're not in for any extended battles in that thing. Although it obviously wouldn't actually prevent breathing, fresh air vs a closed helmet must make a hell of a difference in prolonged wearability.
>>1094981
bretty neat. Great all around protection. Limited peripheral vision though.
>>1094922
pretty based
>>1098631
Yeah and the solution to that is that to tip up the helmet for a second to get some air
>>1098674
and some arrows
>>1098705
bruh all you have to tip up is to your mouth, which is not very high up. Just stop, let your other allies pass by you, bow your head and tip up your helmet. if you still get hit by some arrows then you just have bad luck and your enemy must be very accurate.
>>1094973
Not sure about the helmet specifically, but it seems like the chest would just slope blows straight into the crevasses (which is also the main complaint about boob-plate armours)
>>1098745
Just cut some air holes in the front like loads of other helmets have
>>1098788
theres already a big slit down the middle.
>>1098794
I see it now. Totally missed that originally.
>>1098803
honest mistake, gap was probably more prominent before being in the ground
>>1094959
I'm sorry senpai, they were detachable.
>>1098620
>>1093164
It was a gift for Henry the 8th. Seriously.
>>1098881
Copying the greats
Out of my way, you fucking peasants.
>>1098994

what do we call it?

>GOAT helmet thread
Im pretty damn happy with my current ACL/SCA helm. Pic related. Just had some new plumes made.
>>1093164
>>1093347
Its a tournament helm. Its supposed to be goofy and grotesque.
>>1099064
The grotesque armet of Henry VIII.
>>1093151
>>1098620
To show off the craftsmans talent (they are just like real examples of medieval glasses only in metal) and therefore Maximilian's excellent taste. Up close you can see that they even engraved stubble on its chin.
