Just got all of these, which one should I read first?
>>
>>1004867
did you buy those at the rotary club book sale
>>
>>1004877
No I got them from someone who didn't need them anymore.
>>
I suppose the best one would be from the cradle of situation, then move up as I am rather sure that the later civilizations reference to earlier ones.
Will give you some motivation knowing that you are working towards the "end" of it all.
Otherwise you may just read African kingdoms and tell us if it was WE WUZ tier or not.
>>
>>1004887
>cradle of situation

which situation anon?
>>
>>1004887
They're Time Life edition books, so it's not WE WUZ tier. Plus I think this was written before that was even a meme.
>>
These books are fantastic. I have Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, Byzantium and
Ancient America. They're all superb and really interesting, they take a rather broad approach that is not too novice and then have some sections that go quite in depth.
>>
>>1005016
Ok thanks.
>>
>>1004867
Nice, I'm jealous.
>>
>>1004867
>which one should I read first?

Haul thread?

I went to the used book store today and this accidentally happened.

>>1004867
I can't speak to the quality of those, but they'll look good on a shelf.

Read it chronologically
>>
>>1004867
Those look small.
>>
>>1004928
Time Life is actually pretty decent at maintaining journalistic integrity. And they look like they're from the late seventies to me, so waaaaay before even the idea of an internet meme.
>>
>>1005197
>>1004867
How many pages do those have, and how large are the pages?
>>
>>1004895
The one we're currently in.
>>
>>1005315
Well they'really not too big actually, they'really all around 180 pages each. I could get you a picture of it if you would like.
>>
>>1005152
I was thinking in order instead.
>>
>>1004867
Byzantium and Ancient China.
This is bringing me back, my parents have those books in their house and I used to read them as a kid. Loved those two

Not pictured if Varangians of Byzantium by Benedict Benedikz
Picked it up pretty recently. I've got about 40 books queued up on Amazon, having things shipped here is a pain in the dick though.
>>
>>1004867
why does the font keep switching?!
>>
>>1004867
And to answer OP's question, the Byzantium and Rise of Russia.
>>
>>1005441
I already started on the Byzantine one. Very intriguing.
>>
>>1005441

>>
>>1005739
GIbbon
>>
>>1005436
those DK picture books are terrible by the way.
especially that one about weapons.
>>
>>1005436
nice taste desu. Wedgewood has nice style but also make sure to read a more modern version. I guess the book below will do but the names tossed around here are Geoffrey Parker's or Peter Wilson's book on the war.
>>
>>1004895
