It is actually really great and has a lot of give. I'm not sure if you're in to butt stuff so I'll try break it down:

Most of the pleasure associate with anal is to do with stretching of the sphincter, and pressure against the p-spot.

I'm not sure condoms are necessary to prevent pinching, but due to the kind of non-vanilla play I do with multiple partners, condoms are a requirement for safe sex.

I am not an expert like many of the posters here, but here's what I've found with my experimentation:

You want a plug with a thin stem. Thick stems make it hard to wear long-term, at least as a beginner.

Lube is also great, but it can get messy and it's an added expense if money is a concern. You can just use saliva really, or if the buttplug isn't very big just take it slow and you might not need anything (no one here would recommend this though, as lube is the more professional and safer option). You'll quickly learn your own limits, and it also depends on the material of the buttplug.

The poster above me recommended a toy cleaner and an enema device. Since you're just getting started, I think these are unnecessary. You can clean the buttplug conventionally, and if you experiment with the buttplug after a shit while you're in the shower, the risk of unwanted matter is low and the cost of removing it even lower.

You should also read up on some guides for anal play, its different for everyone since your body works in its own way but you should start off from the safest methods. The smaller one i linked isnt a suction cup type, its just a plug to keep it from going in, I couldnt find any long and thin suction cup dildos so I just took a regular long sc dildo and a regular small dildo instead. Metal and glass toys don't compress. Others do. So depending on the material, you can probably take a larger size dildo than those plugs, or at least comparable diameter one. I have a dildo and a glass plug that are about the same diameter. Took a while before I could get the plug in, but had no problem with the dildo.

Also, interesting thing about glass dildos is because they don't compress, your ass can't "grab" on to them. So once you open up to a glass toy's diameter, it slides right in.

Should have posted my humble collection before as a reference. Vibrators are a black friday update (top center and top right).

The smallest plug here is about 1,5 cm O, and it went in without effort for me the first time. Centre left plug and the suction cup dildo on the right are about 2 cm O and with regular lube amount they go in. Centre plug is 4 cm O and I can only get it in halfway before the uncomfort is to much for me.

Having a varied collection will allow you to explore where your optimal pleasure zone is, which is what you should aim for when starting out, plus its more fun to try out different things and experience something new.
