Pro tip for anyone who plans on going to day 3. Do post what you got or for that matter come to /h/ until a few weeks has past. Most of the people here will be chomping at the bit for anything out of comiket and will be pretty shitty all around.

As someone who has do this a few times, I can tell you the last thing you want is people telling you how you have shit taste for not buying the things they want, or demanding you scan xy and z book right now. Trust me you are better off just avoiding /h/ altogether and just doing whatever you want to do. Because at the end of the day if you are doing this for thanks or fame you are doing it wrong. No one cares that you are some jackass with a scanner with some extra money to buy shit. Just upload your stuff to whatever site you like the most and leave it at that.

Again nothing good will come from posting on /h/. The people here will find what you upload just find. Better to not subject yourself to the shit pile that is post comiket /h/. Unless you like countless threads of people begging for uploads and crying about how x doujin they like will never get scanned.

The most popular circles are usually (emphasis on usually) scanned soon, "soon" meaning within a few days (some within a few hours, but don't count on it too much)
The rest of the stuff usually comes out in the ensuing weeks/months, if it ever comes out
If you're on Sadpanda you might want to consider making Chinese and Korean translations visible, many groups often translate stuff without releasing the raws (and they usually release translations pretty quick since they have these weird e-peen swinging contents on who gets to release stuff first)

If anyone is interested I can show you the floor map. I still need to work on my route for day three. My plan for right now is to do some scouting Day 1 since there isn't a whole lot I want that day. I also plan on Cosplaying that day, as well as hitting up places in Tokyo. Day 2 is more of the same, however I don't plan on hanging around too much like day 1. I want to get want I want then head home to grab all I need for day 3. Comiket isn't about the money, at least it's not like a shop, it's an interaction between artists and fans. And generally people are free to choose with whom to do business with.
That said, I haven't experienced nor witnessed any problems in that regard. I have no problem supporting artists I really like. I still do pirate some works but I am more likely to buy them if I really enjoy their stuff. Sometimes I see a new doujin and wonder how good is this person's works are. So I check their works on Sad Panda to judge this one. If I think it's worth getting I buy it. In this case, I wouldn't have bought their work if it wasn't uploaded online for free viewing. Also some freeloaders can spread the word to potential buyers. People were really upset when Zankuro region locked ECM 4. If his previous works weren't uploaded, no one would have gave a shit.

In short yes and no. You need a flatbed scanner, and a willingness to bend the spine of your book. Also if you don't want them to look like ass your scans are going to need a good bit of post scan touch ups.

Also using a flat bed scanner is slow. The main reason I rip is so I can use a sheetfed scanner. Scans faster and the scans need less clean up.

The three main themes are "games" (which mostly means Kancolle and Touhou nowadays), "for women" (basically a lot of boys love and yaoi, especially Haikyuu, Kuroko no Basket and TIGER&BUNNY nowadays) and "for men"(basically non-yaoi pornographic doujinshi)
The "for men" day is traditionally always the third one, while the other two can change from convention to convention (for C92, "games" was the 1st day and "for women" was the 2nd day)
