Rance falls underneath "Hentai Game" territory.
Now, I don't know if you understand, but /v/ isn't very good with hentai games, and /d/ is too extreme for Rance's flavor of game mechanic/story telling.

Since Rance is a multi-platform, three decade Hentai grandfather of sorts, I certainly believe that it deserves a "stay" vote.

I'm fucking appalled that /h/ hasn't paraded him as a mascot sooner. He's a bad ass with 0 fucks given, some damn memorable lines and some of the greatest legacy in the industry.

He has like a dozen games, an anime and a fucking feature length movie.

He's everything we've ever wanted out of the desert that is hentai protagonists.

Real talk now, for all forms mentioned, if you want true Rance, start with Sengoku Rance and or Rance 01 the anime. Desert guardian is old school af, and the newer anime has some of the greatest scenes to date.

Depends on your tastes. It looks like 80's anime, the faces are weird by modern day standards, and Rancey-poo is way, way, WAY more rapey. The scenes are also far fewer.

However, once you get past all of that, the animation is classic and some of Rance's dialogue and expression can be humorous to say the least. Rance is OG, they never shy away from making him three-dimensional.

It's called desert guardian. It was originally two episodes, but condensed it's actually a 45 minute run with very good editing.

Its a historical legacy of when the home of most eroge was /jp/ with leaks to /a/ and /v/.

They got moved by mods to /vg/ and the centre of eroge discussion is on /vg/ - /hgg/, /hgg2d/, /vn/, alicesoft/rance, /mggg/ and /aa2g/.

Rance discussion in particular is pretty dominated by the general.
